"My son used meth for a rather brief time under a year after a devastating break-up with his girlfriend. Not knowing the signs of a user, by the time we tried to help he was so paranoid that he didn't even trust us. Long story short... he became severely depressed, took a gun to a bar, shot randomly in the empty parking lot, led the police on a chase, ditched his car, shot at the police helicopter and missed, threatened to shoot himself in front of the police, was arrested, charged with attempted murder of a police officer, now serving 17 years in prison. His only previous encounter with police was drunk in public and he only spent the night in jail. What a wake-up call!"
