"My best friend and I went to California just for a change of life, planning on starting over. We never knew the hell that awaited us at the end of the line. We left from Cincinnati, OH in May of 2006 we were both first offered Meth after only two weeks being in California. We smoked and snorted Meth for 2 months. By July, 2006 we both started injecting Meth and we fell apart. We went our separate ways, both still using and neither of us having a place to go to or knowing anyone to turn to for help. After us separating we both just kind of 'hung on' to other Meth users for places to crash. Me and my boyfriend at the time (who was also a needle user) decided we were going to come back to Cincinnati and be clean and get away from the drugs. I called my mom had her send me money to start out with to get home. I told my boyfriend 'Let's get high one more time and hit the road.' We went and got what we needed, got loaded, and went back to the place we were staying at, and put all of our stuff in the back of my car. As we were driving through town about to hit the interstate we were pulled over. They then searched the vehicle and found Meth and needles in the car. We then both went to jail. Which was my fist time ever being in trouble. They impounded my car and everything I owned in it. We both went to jail for two weeks. We then got out and found out I lost everything I had in the police auction. So we decided we would get high again. Well the court gave me a felony on my record and I'm on probation. The day of my probation appointment I begged my P.O. to let me come home to Ohio or I wouldn't stop using. So here I am clean and healthy now... I haven't used since Sept. 31, 2006. I currently attend N.A. meetings and do drug classes. If I finish them I get my felony dropped, but not all Meth users get that chance...I wish I would have never left that day in May to California. As for my friend I haven't heard from her I found out though she hooked up with a guy in California, moved to Montana with him and is still using Meth. I pray for her every night. Thank you for letting me tell my story I hope it reaches out to anyone trying to fight this devilish addiction."
